Sep 10, 2019· Throttle Position Sensor– The throttle position sensor is typically located on the gas pedal. This sensor is responsible for telling the engine how much air and fuel to allow in. It is very rare these days to be actually directly controlling the amount of fuel and air entering the engine directly. These days the computer handles all of that.
Part of the fuel pressure regulator’s job is to maintain fuel pressure at the fuel injectors at all times, including when the engine is shut off. A fuel injected vehicle, with proper fuel pressure, will start up quickly, if no other malfunctions are occurring.
When this sensor malfunctions the speed of the engine cannot be controlled using the accelerator pedal. It may increase or decrease without engaging the pedal. Besides dirty or clogged fuel filters, dirty air filters may be the cause of your car is not accelerating. Just the way your car needs clean fuel, it needs clean air free of dust and debris.

May 28, 2012· Usually by my third try starting, it will almost stall out but rev up again just in time, it will keep doing this until it is nice and warmed up. If I try to press the gas pedal during all this it stalls out very easy. When the van is warm and I press the gas pedal it still bogs the engine down to the point of ALMOST stalling out, then revs up.
Jan 08, 2016· A good switch will shut of the fuel pump when it detects that the vehicle has come to a sudden or violent stop, a faulty switch, however, may trip and shut off the fuel pump for no apparent reason, even when the vehicle is experiencing normal driving conditions. Jan 19, 2018· Mine starts off the line OK and runs well around town. If Im on a hill or try to speed up, there is a flat spot. Nov 15, 2017· First off, when you have to continually press the gas pedal in order for the engine to start, it means one of two things either the engine is not getting the right amount of air/fuel ratio or it’s unable to ignite that mixture of fuel and air. Although the crankshaft and cam position sensor does impact ignition timing and can cause these ...

While I''m driving down the road my RPM''s will fall to zero. Sometimes if I push the gas pedal all the way down the engine will recover, other times it stalls and I have to stop and restart the car.
