19/07/2005· 17,711 Posts. 3 · Jul 12, 2005. get the RF base for the 850, plug two emitters in two different IR ports on the base and stick an emitter on each of the Denon receivers, create two devices in your setup on the 850 and set them to RF instead of IR and use the right port. Luckily the MX850 base does IR routing.
This is the IR sensor’s fundamental working principle. Once the infrared transmitter generates emission, then it arrives at the object some of the emission will reflect back toward the infrared receiver. The sensor output can be decided by the IR receiver depending on the intensity of the response.

19/07/2005· While reading the manual for my Marantz 8400 I noticed that you can turn off the IR sensor on the receiver if you have a wired remote connection. You could buy an IR repeater and position the sensor on the opposite wall. Then connect the output to the Remote Input of the receiver. Something similar should work with the Denon too. Hmm, I have a 1713 and have been using an IR repeater due to the receiver being in a cabinet. I just put the emitter on the front of the unit though where the IR receiver part is. Not sure if this is helpful.
If your receiver doesn''t have a Remote Control In (or Room to Room In) you can connect an IR Extender to the receiver using an IR Emitter (IR Eye) that would stick to the front panel of the receiver where the Remote IR Sensor is located. Either method would allow you to control the receiver via an IR Extender.
